Student Council

The Student Council of Seshadripuram Degree College, Mysore is the representative body of all the students studying in SDC, aiming to give a voice to each of the 680+ students studying in this institution and helping bridge the gap between the students and the college administration.

The Student Council of SDC is a relatively young body which was incepted 3 years ago in the year 2020, and has hit the ground running by bringing a wide variety of innovative changes in regards to policy matters and has always aimed to better themselves year after year. The Student Council of SDC is an organization that believes that true inspiration and impact come from great leadership. Being a democratically elected body, The Student Council gives an opportunity to the students to choose their own leaders and gives the power of election to the hand of the general public to ensure the optimum working of the council.

Vision:

The Student Council aims to inculcate values of unification and a democratic outlook amongst the students and aims at maintain a strong communication network between the students, teachers, and the administration and tries to promote a harmonious relationship between all the stakeholders of the college.

Mission:

The Student Council aims at being the communicator between the student body and the college administration and works toward building a healthy relationship by having clear communication channels between them to instil a sense of peace and harmony in the college campus and put a stop to any possible misinformation. The Student Council also aims at providing a safe and secure campus where each and every student studying here feels comfortable doing so. In order to ensure this, The Student Council carries out various initiatives such as collecting, presenting and resolving student grievances. We also help coordinate and supervise the various events being conducted on the college campus throughout the year. The Student Council is active in all forms of student affairs and is one of the most important pillars in maintaining and extending the legacy of SDC, with our penultimate goal being turning this esteemed institution into the best undergraduate management college in India.

Objectives:

To enhance communication between students, management and staff.

To promote an environment conducive to educational and personal development.

To promote friendship and respect among pupils.

To support the management and staff in the development of the college.

Key Functions of Student Council:

The functions and activities of a Student Council should support the aims and objectives of the Council and promote the development of the college and the welfare of its students. In planning and undertaking activities during the course of the college year, the Council should:

Work closely with the management, teachers, and students,

Consult regularly with students in the college, and

Involve as many students as possible in the activities of the Council to represent the views of the students on matters of general concern to them.
